This video of MUSE "Unintended" is rather old (2000) but I found it only this year and couldn't help watching it over and over again. It's a real feast for the eyes (and ears). I had some ideas for a painting but it turned to be more complicated than I thought to put my impressions on paper.

One of my favourite painters - Nikolai Fechin
First I heard about Nikolai Fechin last year when our teacher in art school gave us some drawings to copy. The works attracted our attention at once. His style was very special, seemed to be simple and quite expressive. Most of the students picked up his portraits for copying.
Nikolai Fechin was born and educated in Russia, famous Russian painter Repin was one of his teachers. Then he moved to USA. Traveled a lot to Mexico, Bali and Japan.
Here are my copies of his "Bali woman" and "Bali boy with a bandage".
Not only Nikolai Fechin is master of drawing, his painting also are brilliant, both in expressive and elaborate styles (please see two paintings of Fechin).
